Jesus is good news for everyone

Jesus is Good News for Everyone

Jesus Christ is the embodiment of the good news that transcends all barriers—cultural, racial, and socioeconomic. In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus declares, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” This mission was not just for a select few; it was for everyone. The gospel of Jesus Christ is universal, offering hope and salvation to all who believe in Him.

As John Piper puts it, “The gospel is not good news for people who want to be religious; it’s good news for people who know they’re not and don’t want to be.” Jesus came to save sinners, and His message is one of grace and redemption for all humanity. No one is excluded from this offer of salvation, as Romans 1:16 affirms, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

Jesus is Lord Everywhere

Jesus’ lordship extends over every corner of the earth and every aspect of our lives. Colossians 1:16-17 declares, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” His authority is not confined to the spiritual realm; it encompasses the entire cosmos.

As Abraham Kuyper famously said, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, ‘Mine!’” Jesus is Lord over every nation, every government, every home, and every heart. His rule is comprehensive, and His kingdom is advancing throughout the world, as foretold in Revelation 11:15, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Jesus is Here Now

Jesus is not a distant deity but an ever-present Lord who dwells among us. Matthew 28:20 reassures us with His promise, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” His presence is real and transformative, offering comfort, guidance, and power to those who seek Him.

Pete Greig, founder of the 24-7 Prayer movement, emphasizes, “The presence of God isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. It’s not an option for the few; it’s a promise for all.” Jesus is with us in our joys and struggles, in our churches and homes, in our prayers and actions. His presence is a living reality, as stated in John 14:23, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

Jesus is here now, working in and through His people to bring about His purposes on earth. As we live in the awareness of His presence, we are empowered to be His witnesses, carrying the good news to every corner of the globe, knowing that His lordship reigns supreme and His presence is our constant companion.
