Psalm 23 as a Withness Metaphor

- In Christ we are clothed in his holiness.
- We walk in character, grace, and truth, not in our own performance.
5. Valley of the shadow of death
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.”
- In me Christ is courage.
- In Christ we are not alone.
- His rod and staff comfort: rod for correction and protection, staff for guidance and rescue.
6. The table
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
- In me Christ is host and bread of life.
- In Christ we are companions at his table.
- Forgiveness, fellowship, and mission flow here.
7. The overflowing cup
“You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

8. Goodness and mercy
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
- In me Christ is goodness.

- Gratitude flows as we trust his sovereign kindness.
9. The house of the Lord
“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
- In me Christ is dwelling.
- In Christ we are at home with the Father.
- This is menō—abiding forever in his presence.
We could also add a simple reflective framework on the sheet:
- What do I notice about the Shepherd?
- Where am I on this journey today?
- How is Christ in me? How are we in Christ together?
- What action or step of trust is he inviting me into?
